Otto Nemec Sr.

Otto William Nemec Sr., a proud Army veteran, passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2025, in Chesapeake, Va., at the age of 90, surrounded by his children. Born on Nov. 23, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., Otto was the beloved son of the late William Filip Nemec and Emily Nemec (née Bocek).
In 1960, Otto married Eddie Sue in a simple yet heartfelt ceremony that began a devoted and enduring partnership. Together, they raised three loving children in Chicago. In 1994, Otto and Sue retired to South Fulton, where they embraced their golden years with joy and companionship. They became active members of the local Senior Center and found fulfillment in their community. Their retirement years were filled with shared adventures and quiet moments until Sue’s passing in 2024.
Otto is survived by his three children, Linda Baggett (Johnnie), Otto Nemec Jr. (Constance) and Judy Brown (Wayne). He was a proud grandfather to Jennifer Clark (Thomas), Brian Baggett (Nicole), Keith Baggett (Sarah), Kevin Baggett, Amanda Walz (Andrew), Timothy Nemec and Ashley Nemec. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Tyler Baggett (Kelly), Seth Clark, Lexi Clark, Mikaela Taylor (Cameron), Savana Tripp, Raeleigh Baggett, Gage Baggett, Charli-Jo Baggett, Ayden Walker, Kyra Baggett, Gracelyn Baggett, Kade Baggett and Preston Walz; as well as his great-great-grandchild, Tyler Baggett Jr. Otto also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Emily, Rose, Arthur, Richard, Irene, Betty, Shirley, Beverly and Felicia, but is survived by his sister, Lillian Arico (née Nemec) of Arizona.
