Joyce Carter
Joyce Faye Carter, 80, a resident of Union City, died Jan. 3, 2025, at The Waters of Union City.
Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Rev. Keith Pence will officiate.
Burial will follow in Stanley’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Tate, Ethan Tate, Joe Choate, Mason Choate, Davey Edmaiston and Dallas Edmaiston. Timmy Stout will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Carter was born on Aug. 6, 1944, in Henning to the late John and Mary (Tabor) Tate. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Meridian Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.
The family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
She is survived by a three brothers, Johnny Tate, Pete Tate and Steve Tate and wife, Debbie, all of Union City; sister, Rita Choate of Waverly; eight nephews,; Timmy Stout, Paul Tate, Ethan Tate, Joe Choate, Mason Choate, Davey Edmaiston, Dallas Edmaiston and Hugh Tate; and four nieces;, Alicia Tolbert, Tammy Rinks, Hollye Edmaiston and Angela Vise.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Phillip Tate and Rudy Tate; her sister, Margaret Stout; and her nephew; Tony Stout.
