Carolyn Covington
Mrs. Carolyn Booth Covington, age 91, of Kenton passed away from this life on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at Dyer Nursing Home.
Graveside services for Mrs. Covington were conducted on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, at 1 p.m. in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Mickey Hanks officiating. Interment immediately followed.
Carolyn was born Feb. 6, 1933, in Haywood County, the daughter of the late Doris and Iva (Campbell) Booth. She retired from the Obion County School District after many years of teaching and counseling. Mrs. Covington was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Johnny) Cavender; son, Ken Covington; sister, Jean Climer; four grandchildren, Chris Cavender, Curt Cavender, Tabitha Lecornu and KC Covington; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Bridges, Alexis Cavender, Micah Cavender, Caden Lecornu, Charlie Ann Cavender and Angel Brook Willitt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Angel Cavender and Kolby Blu Cavender.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Covington.
The family received friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, in the chapel of New Salem Baptist Church.
