Austin Cox
Austin Cox, age 33, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Susan Carrigan officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary, Ray, Shea and Zach Gomes, Dakota Lewis and Tony Slaughter.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Austin was born April 24, 1991, to David Eugene Cox and Phyllis Slaughter Gomes. He worked as a Verizon Retailer in Florida.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Phyllis and Gary Gomes of Union City; his father and stepmother, David and Amy Cox of South Fulton; sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Dakota Lewis of Union City; half-sister, Ashley Lawrence of Memphis; three brothers, Ray, Shea and Zach Gomes; grandfather, Travis Cox of Nashville; two nieces, Kinzleigh and Kaizie Lewis; two nephews, Xander and Xaiden Lewis; and his beloved dog, Max.
Austin was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Linda Cox; and his maternal grandparents, Phil, Rosemary and Shirley Slaughter.
