Ray Coleman

Charles Raymond “Ray” Coleman, age 67, of Martin passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Van Ayer Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 26, 2024, 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Norton officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at the church beginning at 11:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00. Burial will be in Latham’s Chapel Cemetery in Milan, Tennessee at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Brooks Johnston, Charlie Jahr, Chris Wilson, Chris Bell, Paul Richards and Houston Haag. Honorary Pallbearers are Steve Sherfield, Vester Jones, William Edwards, Bobby Rogers, Rick Jones, Tim Coleman, John Coleman and Dalton Coleman. Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife, Gwen Jones Coleman; his sons, Shawn Auston (Kaylyn) Coleman and Seth Lewis (Victoria) Coleman; two grandchildren, Rylan Beckett Coleman and Scottie Anne Coleman. He was retired from Safety and Security at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a graduate of Milan High School, received his undergraduate from The University of Tennessee at Martin and then his Master’s from The University of Tennessee at Martin. He also graduated from the National Police Academy. Ray was an avid Tennessee fan, Dallas Cowboys fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Martin and a veteran, US Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Auston Brooks Coleman and Betty Jane King Coleman; one brother, Michael Anthony Coleman.
