Don Ellison

Joe Donald “Don” Ellison, 96, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at the Weakley County Nursing Home in Dresden. Graveside service was held at noon Monday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Woodland, Mississippi with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in charge of the arrangements. Don was born August 28, 1928 in Woodland, Mississippi. He was married to Stella Brents Ellison. He was retired from Fore Motor Company in Memphis. He and his wife then moved to Martin. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin. Don leaves behind two daughters, Donna (Raymond) Bell of Martin and Barbara (David) Stockett of Hendersonville; one granddaughter, Jennifer Weir of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Cody (Katie) Bell of Murfreesboro and Clayton (Jennifer) Stockett of Edmond, Oklahoma; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline and Stella Stockett, Sam Martin and Sara Weir. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella; and his parents, John and Carrie Lewis Ellison. Online tributes may be left at murphyfuneralhome.net.
