Marie Lynn Menees
Mrs. Marie Lynn Menees, age 94, of Fulton, Ky., passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on March 8, 1930, in Rives to the late Euell and Margaret Carter Lynn.
Mrs. Menees was a member of Smith Street Church of Christ. She was a former secretary and bookkeeper for Fulton County Sheriff 1966-1970, County Judge 1970-1978 and Judge Executive from 1978-1982.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Don) Dennis of Beaverton, Ore.; a son, James Keith Menees of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren, Kelly (Kevin) May of Eugene, Ore., Lauren (Ryan) Boyens of Nolensville, Julianne (Loren) Shelly of Murfreesboro, Danielle Dennis of Monmonth, Ore., and Jay (Kelly) Menees of Gainesville, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Peyton Shelly and Sloane Shelly, both of Murfreesboro, Charlie Boyens, Bennett Boyens and Sarah Boyens, all of Nolensville, Tyler Shelly of Murfreesboro and Carter Menees of Gainesville, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. “Buck” Menees; a granddaughter, Sarah Menees; and a daughter-in-law, Lori Menees.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Marie Lynn Menees will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service.
