Billy Ward
Billy Ray Ward, age 73, of Clarksville, formerly of Union City, passed away Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, in Clarksville.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, at White-Ranson Funeral Home. He was laid to rest in his family plot in East View Cemetery. Visitation began Sunday at 1 p.m. and ran until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Mr. Ward was born in Union City on Nov. 12, 1950, to the late Robert Ashton Ward and the late Mary Laman Nedry Ward. He married Tae Kim Ward on Dec. 4, 1978.
Mr. Ward retired from the Army after 24 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tae Ward; his daughter and her husband, Mary and Pierce Wickens of Clarksville; five grandchildren, Evan, Isaac and Veronica Wickens and Connor and Ashton Ward; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Ward of Iowa; two nephews, Johnny Ashton Smith and Josh Smith; his brother-in-law, Johnny Smith; and three cousins; Jerry Wellons, Sandra Bing and Ruth Ann Wellons.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his son, Jason Artell Ward; his sister, Reba Ann Smith; and his niece, Rebecca Ann Smith.
