Kenneth Fuzzell

Mr. Kenneth Otto Fuzzell, 87, a resident of Union City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, surrounded by his family, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.
He was born April 7, 1937, in Union City to John Hogan and Evelyn Fuzzell, who preceded him in death, as did his brother, Donald Hogan Fuzzell.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City.
He retired from the Reelfoot Packing Company in Union City, where he held a number of positions, including shipping and sales. He also owned and operated The Market Basket convenience store, and worked in distribution and delivery of the Union City Messenger newspaper for a number of years.
He was a 1955 graduate of Union City High School, and continued to follow and support UCHS sports as well as University of Tennessee sports. He enjoyed watching golf, especially The Masters, and television sitcoms.
He is survived by four children, Jon Fuzzell of Union City, David (Benita) Fuzzell of South Fulton, Joe (Donna) Fuzzell of Bells and Leigh Ann (Bobby) Lugten of Hendersonville; two stepdaughters, April (Randall) Coleman of Lexington, Tenn., and Ginger Perry of Hornbeak; nine grandchildren, LaShonda (Chad) Cook of Martin, Wesley (Jennifer) Lugten of Portland, Crystal (Jay) Fox of Hornbeak, Heidi (Jim) Bennett of Union City, Bradi (Richie) Collins of Union City, Joey (Brittany) Fuzzell of Columbia, La., Jon David (Bentlee) Fuzzell of Jackson, Jessica Perry of Hornbeak and Kacy Greer of Franklin; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, R.J. Lugten.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis or Shriners Children’s Hospital, two charities which he regularly supported.
Visitation was held from noon to 2 p.m. today, Sept. 4, 2024, at White-Ranson Funeral Home. Graveside services were to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Antioch Union Cemetery in the Crystal community, with Bro. Eddie Mallonee officiating.
