OFFICIAL VISIT — Donnie Johnson (right) of Johnson Heating & Air in Union City showed Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter around the shop when the commissioner stopped by for a visit recently as part of National Black Business Month. McWhorter has been making stops across the state to recognize black-owned businesses, an extension of business appreciation being shown by the state following its celebration of businesses older than 100 years old earlier in the year. The stop at Johnson Heating & Air was the fourth of nine planned in the state after the department identified businesses in each of TNECD’s nine regions as having significantly impacted their employees, their community and the State of Tennessee.
