Betty Pebbles

Betty Lynn Nelson Peebles (née Insco), aged 72, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, in Winston Salem, North Carolina. A service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at the Tin Roof, 4790 Hwy 45 S, Martin, on August 24, from noon to 2 p.m. Born on Dec. 17, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, she was a beloved figure known for her vibrant and loving personality. Betty attended Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois. Throughout her life, Betty worked various jobs in Miami, Florida, Sharon and Milan and Bardstown, Kentucky. Despite her diverse career, she often expressed that her favorite roles were those of a devoted mother and wife. Betty’s zest for life was evident in her hobbies. She cherished her time going to the Florida Keys, sitting on the beaches of Florida, and gambling in Tunica, Mississippi. She also loved spending time with her friends and family in Sharon, Bardstown, and North Carolina, always ensuring everyone around her was having as much fun as she was. Betty is survived by her children, Michael Nelson (Marie), Michelle Bond (Terry), Steve Nelson (Stacy), and Teri McCollom (Adam); her sister, Linda Insco Powers; grandchildren, Travis Bond, Jordis McNamara, Ellen Moore, Kelsie McManus, Taylor Bond, Casey Moore, Katie Wade, Ryan Nelson, Logan Nelson, and Addison McCollom; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Bond, Dylan Bond, Jackson Bond, Brooklynn Bond, and Eleanor Novotny. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Lois Insco, and her siblings, Ronald and Patricia Insco.
