Hank Gill

Mr. Henry Robert “Hank” Gill, 97, a resident of Union City, died July 25, 2024 at his son’s home.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at White-Ranson Funeral Home.
Private entombment services were held following the visitation.
Mr. Gill was born on Aug. 9, 1926, in Topeka, Kan., to the late Carl and Marie (Fry) Gill. He worked as a Superintendent for Goodyear Tire and Rubber. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4862. He enlisted in the Navy and was one of the last living WWII veterans in Obion County. He was a member of the Hardee’s, McDonald’s and Bennett’s Problem Solving Clubs, an avid golfer, and loved going to auctions.
The family requests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
He is survived by a son, Gary Gill and wife, Doris, of Union City; three daughters, Jeania Gilbert and husband, Dave, of South Fulton, Judy McBride and husband, Ronnie, of Troy and Carla Smith of Union City; five grandchildren, Brock Gill and wife, Stacie, of Union City, Cliff Gilbert of South Fulton, Chad Gilbert and wife, Amanda, of South Fulton, Alex Martin of Obion and Erica Martin of Memphis; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces an nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a granddaughter, Amy Jean Gill.
