Glenn Rudd
Mr. Glenn Rudd, 86, a resident of Troy, passed from this life to his heavenly home with his wife and children by his side on July 25, 2024, at his home.
Services were 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Troy First Baptist Church. Bro. Tony Jones officiated. Burial followed in Campground Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ethan Rudd, Austin Rudd, Andrew Marshall, David Bailey, John Davis, Pete Mooney, Thad Sanders, Brad Sanders, David Sanders, Joe David Sanders, Skip Tilghman, Kip Tilghman, Wes Tilghman, Joe Waggner, Roy Albright, Cory Cox, Sidney Chappell, Bryce Leverette, Barrett Cox, Kenneth Coker, Adam Griffin, Will Murphy and Johnny Guy.
The family received friends from noon until 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rudd was born on Oct. 9, 1937, in Kenton to the late Ira B. and Byird (Jones) Rudd. He was the Owner and Operator of Troy Motors. On Aug. 14, 1981, he married Debi Norquist. He was a member of Troy First Baptist Church, on the Board of Alderman in Troy for 12 years, a Volunteer Firefighter and owned various businesses for over 60 years on the Troy Square.
He was most proud of being a father, grandfather and husband.
The family requests memorials be sent to: Troy First Baptist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mr. Rudd is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Debi Rudd of Troy; son, Gary Glenn Rudd and Bethany Walker of Troy; daughter, Donna Rudd Marshall of Troy; three grandchildren, Ethan Glenn Rudd and wife, Audrea, of Troy, Jon Austin Rudd and wife, Juliane, of Troy and Jesse Andrew Marshall of Troy; three great-grandchildren, Oakleigh Grace Rudd, Woodson Glenn Rudd and Emma Claire Rudd; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert Vernice Rudd; two daughters, Penny and Pansy Rudd; son, Chadwick “Chad” Rudd; stepmother, Velma Rudd; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pauline and Roger Norquist Sr.; and brother-in-law, Roger Norquist Jr.
