Sherry was raised in Ferguson, Mo., and graduated from McCluer High School in 1968. She met her husband of 54 years, Jerry Williams, in 1969 through a mutual friend. They married on April 3, 1971. Together they shared memorable adventures until settling down and purchasing their first home in Florissant, Mo., in 1975. Shortly thereafter, their first son, Nathan Williams, was born in 1976, followed by their second son, Timothy Williams, born in 1981. The small family moved from Florissant to St. Peters, Mo., in 1984. Sherry loved that house and made many memories with her family overlooking the sweeping views of a small farm.
In 1986, an employment opportunity took them to West Palm Beach, Fla., where they resided, raising a family until 2000. With her sons in college, Sherry and Jerry moved outside Charlotte, N.C., finally settling in St. Augustine, Fla., in 2006.
Sherry loved the beach, fishing, gardening, cooking, traveling, but most of all she loved her family. A fervent wife, mother and grandmother, Sherry loved sister trips with Delaine, Beverly and Kay. She loved North Carolina, Sanibel Island and St. Augustine, Fla. After her children both graduated from the University of Florida, she loved Gator football, softball and baseball. Saturdays and Sundays at the Williams house were always lively, filled with love and comradery.
She spent her life caring for others. A devoted homemaker, she raised two sons, cared for her husband and doted on her grandchildren until her passing. She was selfless and nurturing, always making sure her guests were comfortable and well fed.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Williams; three sisters, Beverly Parr, Kay Dickhans (Dennis) and DeLaine Bryant (Jim); sons, Nathan Williams (Laura) and Timothy Williams (Sherri); and grandchildren, Coben Balch, Evan Williams and Stella Williams.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Robert Tate; brothers, Ronald Tate and Bobby Tate; sister, Bonnie (Judy) Ellebracht; brother-in-law, Robert Parr; nephew, David Parr; and niece, Jill Davison.
