Phillip Smith

Phillip Smith, age 71, of Fulton passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Baptist East Hospital-Memphis.
He was born on Sept. 10, 1952, in Fulton to the late Buford Smith and Betty Mae Jones Smith.
Phillip was a United States Army National Guard veteran, where he served in Vietnam. He was a member of Last Outpost Ministry in South Fulton where he was a Co-Pastor; he also had Phil Smith Ministries. Phillip was the owner/operator of Smith Construction Restoration and was the apartment manager for Royal Ridge Apartments in Fulton. He lived all of his life in this area.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Fulcher Smith, whom he married Feb. 8, 2016; his children, Kevin Lee (Tammy) Smith of Ardmore, Ala., Scott (Chanda) Smith of Fulton, Rebecca (Marty) Reagor of Newbern, Rachel Matz of Dresden and Jeremy Smith of Silverdale, Wash.; three stepchildren, Nicholas Howard of Paris, Tenn., Jonathan Howard of Fulton and Julian Howard of Fulton; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Alvin Smith of South Fulton and Ronald Gene (Judy) Smith of South Fulton; and four sisters, Nancy Babbs of South Fulton, Janie Sue (Commodore) Warren of Kenton, Mary Murray of South Fulton and Patsy (Wendell) Corum of Latham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter; a sister-in-law, Brenda Smith; and a brother-in-law, Chris Murray.
Funeral services for Mr. Phillip Smith will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Zion Cemetery in Oakton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Thursday until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
