Charles Barnes
Mr. Charles Barnes, age 88, of Troy passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at White & Mahon Funeral Home, with Brother Tony Jones and Brother Rick Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James Morton, Dereck Barnes, Tim Jones, Tim King, Todd Smith and Jeremy Burpo.
Mr. Barnes was born May 13, 1936, in Troy to the late Wylie and Lillie B. (Freeman) Barnes. He married Wanda (Hicks) Barnes on Nov. 4, 1956. She survives.
He was a retired truck driver and a member of Troy First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Barnes of Troy; one son, Dr. Chuck Barnes and his wife, Terri, of McComb, Miss.; one daughter, Beth Barnes Hansen and her husband, Brad, of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Katherine Marie Barnes and John William Thomas Barnes, both of McComb; four sisters, Dot Barnes Haley, Linda Barnes, Joyce Barnes Turner and Carolyn Barnes Griffith and her husband, Roy, all of Troy; and one brother, Randy Barnes of Troy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Wylie Barnes Jr.
