Martha Busby
Ms. Martha J. Busby, age 82, of Hickman, Ky., passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the Clinton Place in Clinton, Ky.
She was born on May 5, 1942, in Fulton County, Ky., to the late Alvin Busby and Netty Spears Busby.
Martha was a member of David’s Chapel Baptist Church and loved taking care of her nieces and nephews. She also loved to sing and write and had lived in this area most of her life.
She is survived by three sisters, Alice Starnes of Hickman, Ky., Betty Chapman of Little Rock, Ark., and Joyce Ayers of Centralia, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Phyllis Bryant, Louise Simon, Mary Blasingim, Grace Wilson, Lorene Sadler and Barbara Hunter; and three brothers, Alvin Busby Jr., Lace Busby and George Busby.
Funeral services for Ms. Martha Busby were held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel-Hickman, with burial following in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Saturday until the hour of service.
