George Callison
Mr. George Robert Callison, 58, of the Terrell community passed away Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at Diversicare of Martin.
Funeral services were conducted 6 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Trint Callison officiated.
Visitation was held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
George was born on June 27, 1965, the son of the late Geraldine (Phipps) Callison and the late Warner Ray Callison Sr.
He was a 1985 Fulton County High School graduate in Hickman, Ky. His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him. He was a warrior, friend, encourager and inspiration to many. He had a love for writing songs and singing. He enjoyed spreading his joy of music through karaoke and singing with his friends over the years. Most people who knew George met him through his love for music. He had a love for animals and he adored his chihuahua, Lucy. She brought him so much joy; if you saw George, she was almost always in tow. He shared his love for the Lord with others and was of Baptist faith.
He is survived by three brothers, Warner Ray Callison Jr. (Sheryl) of Martin, Ricky Callison (Billie) of Paris, Tenn., and Trint Callison (Ginger) of Mt. Carmel; three sisters, Candy Hernandez of Trenton, Niki Dobbs (Lee) of Martin and Samantha Callison of Jackson; nieces and nephews, Audi Day (Matt), Brittany Winston (RJ), Beth Williamson, Ashley Prince (Brandon), Kloye Espinosa, Jazel Espinosa, Silas Campbell, Jaime Hernandez Jr., Robert Hernandez, Trint Callison Jr. and Megan Cochran (Hunter); many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog and companion, Lucy.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kammye Kai Callison and Carrie Suzanne Callison; and a nephew Joshua Stone Callison.
