DOWNHILL SLIDE — Eight-year-old Ariane Woodruff of Union City was bundled in several layers of clothing as she and a few others braved a temperature of 11 degrees, with a wind chill of -1, to go sledding at midday Monday on a hill in Graham Park in Union City. City and county schools were already closed Monday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday, and both local systems were also closed again Tuesday and today due to lingering ice and extreme cold. Many government offices and local businesses also closed Tuesday. Ariane is the daughter of Taylor Wilkins of Union City and Sean Woodruff of Paris.
