NEW YEAR’S BABY

NEW YEAR’S BABY — Chana Christman and Charles Midkiff, both of Benton County, paused Tuesday afternoon to admire their newborn son, Stetson Lane Midkiff, who arrived on New Year’s Day at 7 p.m. to become the first baby born in 2024 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces, and was 21 inches long. The baby was delivered Monday night by Dr. Elizabeth Lund. The couple received several gifts, including those from the hospital and its staff, as well as from Obion County Reading Railroad. Ms. Christman said her due date was Jan. 6. The baby will also be welcomed by two older siblings, 5-year-old Elana Carroll and 3-year-old Jesse Carroll.
