South Fulton 47, Greenfield 21
The Red Devils took another big step toward a playoff berth with Friday night’s win at Greenfield.
South Fulton jumped out to a 13-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 27-7 advantage at the half on the way to the Region 7-1A triumph.
Dallas Whitehead had another big game running the ball as he picked up 131 yards and scored once on 24 carries.
Brady McFarland had a solid overall effort, completing 9-of-15 passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns and rushing for 76 yards on 12 carries.
Connor O’Neal, Dane Cirkles and Josh McKnight all had touchdown receptions, while McKnight also hauled in a two-point conversion pass.
McKnight also scored on a 12-yard run, Circles took a punt 72 yards for a TD and Luke Morris had a touchdown run and a two-point conversion.
Trey Maben had a big game for the Yellowjackets as he ran for 177 yards and all three Greenfield touchdowns. His scoring runs were 60, 47 and 44 yards.
The Red Devils are now 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the region, currently holding the fourth playoff spot behind Dresden, Union City and Lake County.
Greenfield is 3-4 and 2-3.

Dresden 31, Union City 28
Paul Betzou’s 25-yard field goal as time expired lifted Dresden to a thrilling 31-28 win over UC in a battle of state-ranked teams at Union City’s War Memorial Stadium on Friday.
The Lions now hold the upper hand in the race for the Region 7-1A regular season championship and top seed from the league in the playoffs.
The teams combined for 717 yards of offense and eight touchdowns, going back and forth all night until the final horn.
Dresden grabbed an early lead on a Tristan Jett run, but UC went up 14-6 as Keaten Brown threw for one score and ran for another.
Before the first period was over, Dresden tied the game at 14 on a 64-yard run by Jett.
UC went ahead 21-14 at 3:03 of the second quarter on another Brown run, but Nick Turnbow pulled down a 57-yard TD pass nine seconds later for another tie.
The Lions went ahead 28-21 after three quarters, thanks to another Jett run, and UC tied the game at 28 on a Tayehari Jones run with 3:33 remaining.
Brown ran for 123 yards and threw for 63 more on two completions.
Jett ran for 109 yards, while Lion quarterback Cameron Schlicht completed 13-of-19 passes for 186 yards.
Dresden improves to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the region, while UC drops to 4-3 and 3-1.

Crockett County 27, Obion Central 7
What looked poised to be a shootout turned into a strong defensive effort from Crockett County.
The first three possessions of the game resulted in touchdowns as Crockett quarterback Grayson Lambert threw TD passes to Preston Lambert and Willie Walker while Obion Central’s Hamilton May had a 34-yard run for a score.
After those three TDs in the opening quarter, there were only two more the rest of the game, both by the Cavaliers as Caden Greenhill had a pair of eight-yard runs.
Obion Central had the ball for the final five minutes of the second quarter, driving to the Cavalier 20, but saw the drive end with an interception in the end zone. OC then opened the second half by keeping the ball for over five minutes and reaching the Cav 26 before giving up possession on downs.
With its third straight loss, Central is now 4-3 overall and 0-2 in Region 7-4A. The Cavs improve to 5-2 and 1-1.
