BLOOD BATTLE
BLOOD BATTLE — It was the Battle of the Badges Monday afternoon when Union City fire and police department personnel and supporters, including fire department administration assistant Cynthia Mickschl, pulled up their sleeves to give blood to Lifeline Blood Services. The bloodmobile was set up at E.W. James and Sons in Union City. The police department came out on top with 32 donors to the fire department’s 20. Local EMS also participated and had seven donors. “No matter what the results are, this was a win win for everyone. Lifeline is grateful for each and every donor; 186 patients right here in West Tennessee will be impacted by your selfless act of donating and giving the gift of life,” said marketing manager Melinda Reid. Lifeline Blood Services has an urgent need for the following blood types: O positive, O negative, A negative, B positive and B negative. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, qualifying donors have the opportunity to win a 2020 Ford Mustang donated by Joe Mahan Ford.
