MILITARY MISSION — U.S. Marine Corps veteran Drew Rabbe (left) of central Illinois and U.S. Navy veteran Conner Garison of southeast Oklahoma were in Obion County early Saturday as recipients of Labrador retriever puppies through Hero to the Line, a non-profit program that works to place well bred retriever or other hunting breed puppies with veterans, active duty service members or Gold Star families. The organization’s first puppy donation event of 2023 was held at Sunset Hill Retrievers near Union City. Rabbe received a female chocolate Lab, named Kona; and Garison was given a male black Lab, named Kodak.
