Joan Williams

Joan Ransom Williams, 82, a resident of Union City, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Pat Murdock officiating.
Burial followed in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Crystal community. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Shane McDaniel, Mike Williams, Zach King, Clay McDaniel, Donovan Ransom and Josh Mathenia.
Ms. Williams was born on May 18, 1940, in Union City to the late Lester “Becie” Ransom and Stella Marie (Wyatt) Ransom.
She worked as a secretary for the Doctor’s Clinic and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City and was a member of Mt Olive Baptist Church.
Ms. Williams is survived by a sister, Jane McDaniel of Union City; two brothers, Bobby Ransom of Union City and Larry Ransom and his wife, Sharon, of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Williams and one brother, L.T. Ransom.
