Don Lewis Jones, age 81, of Martin died Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022, 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Washburn officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home until funeral time at 11:00. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia Lambert Jones of Martin; his son, James (Debbie) Jones of Union City, TN; two grandchildren, Sara Jones and Christopher Jones; one great-grandchild, Thomas Blackard; his niece and nephew, Ryan (Kim) Lambert and Amanda Lambert. Mr. Jones retired after 33 years from the Canadian National Railroad where he was a train official. He was a veteran, U. S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Charles Jones and Maudine Fortenberry Jones.

    Virginia and James,

    Don lived next door to me and my family in Bogalusa. I have very fond memories of our childhood.
    He was a dear friend and even though our paths led us in different directions we did exchange e-mails.
    He spoke of you two and how much he loved you both and the Grandchildren.
    I hope the memories that you share will give you peace.
