A ‘LITTLE’ ENTERTAINMENT

A ‘LITTLE’ ENTERTAINMENT — Children from several classes at Kare Bear Preschool kicked off entertainment on the opening night of Chimes for Charity’s musical showcase and fundraiser, formerly known as the telethon, last week at First Baptist Church in Union City. Among them were (from left, bottom step) Cooper Hardy, Rowan Marshall, Margo Daniel, (second step) Oakley Dill, Braxton Payne, Barrett Gore, Lyla Haney and (top step, at left) Carter Nichols. The fundraiser closed out a two-night run with a total of $21,545 received toward this year’s $65,000 goal. Chimes is in its 88th year of helping less fortunate families and individuals across Obion County at Christmas. The program, sponsored by the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes, depends upon community contributions to provide food, clothing and toys to those in need.
