Thelma Davis

Thelma (Jones) Younger Davis, 92, of Union City passed away 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, at her home surrounded by her children.
Graveside services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2002, at Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Her grandchildren served as pallbearers.
Thelma was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Elbridge, daughter of the late Johnnie Lawton and Elizabeth Holmes (Fagan) Jones. She married James Lee Younger Oct. 25, 1947. He preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1997. She then married Burnie Davis Aug. 26, 2000. He preceded her in death Oct. 13, 2010. Thelma had been employed as manager of the former Rebel Food Mart in Troy and was a homemaker. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Troy and enjoyed gardening and quilting. Thelma loved her family dearly.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Allman, Kay Vaughn and Ann Simrell and husband, David, all of Union City; one son, Jimmy Younger and his wife, Rita, of Union City; one daughter-in-law, Lynda Younger of Union City; seven grandchildren, Mike Edwards (Phyllis), David Younger (Dawn) and Dayna Cox, all of Union City, Steve Edwards (Cindy) of Troy, Brian Younger (Kristen) of Jackson, Chris Younger (Crystal) of Dyer and Lori Allman of Union City; two brothers, Tommy Jones and Walter Dale Jones, both of Kenton; 12 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was also precede in death by one son, Duane “Bo” Younger; two sisters, Ruby Lurliene Long and Maddie Lee Jones; and four brothers, Leroy Jones, Earl Jones, Harry Jones and Herbert Ray Jones.
