PLANT TOUR — Thor Boats owners J. Paul Jackson (left) and Brian Wright (right) gave Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (second from left) and Obion County Mayor Steve Carr a tour through their facility Wednesday, where the four met with one of the company’s 25 employees, Wendy Wharton. She was installing electrical wiring in one of the all-aluminum hunting and fishing boats. Following the tour, Lee officially cut the ribbon opening the newest industry in Union City. They expect to hire 85 people by 2025 and produce 400 boats in their first 12 months of operation.
