Mary Helen Gibbs

Mary Helen Gibbs, 89, of Chesterfield, Mo., formerly of Union City, passed away on June 29, 2021.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at First Methodist Church, 420 East Main St. in Union City.
A memorial service was also held July 15 at St. Louis Cremation in St. Peters, Mo.
“Miss Helen,” as she was well known, spent the majority of her adult life as a childcare provider, which she did for more than three decades. Parents wanted a provider they could depend on, trust and responsibly care for their children. They found that and so much more in Miss Helen.
She was also a lover of all pets, particularly cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Gibbs of Chesterfield, Mo.; and her loving cat, Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva McCarty; her husband, Allen Gibbs; her sister, Dorothy McCarty Marckini; and four brothers, Bill McCarty, Paul McCarty, Jim McCarty and Donald McCarty.
