Johnny Hassell

Mr. Johnny Hassell, 74, a resident of Union City, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Cemetery, with the Rev. Chip Davis officiating. Family members served as pallbearers.
The family received friends at White-Ranson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Johnny was born Sept. 29, 1946, in Union City, son of the late Oscar Murray Hassell and Dolly (Duncan) Hassell. He married Gwen (Brandon) Hassell on Dec. 7, 1984. She survives.
He served in the United States Marine Corps, was general manager of Stambaugh Roofing Inc. and a member of Lake Road Baptist Church and VFW.
He is also survived by one daughter, Dena (Chris) Lewis of Union City; one son, Kevin (Tabitha) Hassell of Obion; six grandchildren, Kimberly Hassell of Union City, Emily Crosser of Union City, Jonathan Hassell of Springhill, Robin Sanders of Union City, Dakota Hassell of Dyersburg and Ryan Hassell of Dyersburg; two great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Allen and Leo Sanders, both of Union City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Vicky Duncan.
