James Edwin Williams

James Edwin Williams, 87, of Union City died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at his residence.
Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Old Republican Cemetery, with Bro. Pat Murdock officiating. No visitation was held.
White-Ranson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family requested memorials be sent to Old Republican Cemetery Association, 675 West Hwy. 22, Union City, TN 38261.
Mr. Williams was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Obion County, son of the late Joe Dow and Sally (Pinion) Williams. He married Sylvia (Ransom) Williams. She survives. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He was also a farmer and worked as an inspector for Tennessee Crop Improvement.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Williams; three brothers; and four sisters.
