Brenda Castleman

Mrs. Brenda Adell Gibson Castleman, 76, of the Chest-nut Glade community passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2020, at her residence. She was born on Sept. 20, 1944, in Pryorsburg, Ky., to the late Lucian Albert Gibson and Thomas Mozell McAlister Gibson Webb. Mrs. Castleman was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Woodman of the World and Native American Youth Organization. She lived most of her life in this area. She is survived by a son, George Woodrow (Barbara) Castleman Jr. of Latham; two daughters, Penny (Keith) Johansen of the Chestnut Glade community and Roxanne Pate of Union City; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister Patricia Elliott of the Chestnut Glade community; and two brothers, Bob Webb of Union City and David Webb of the Chestnut Glade community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Woody” Castleman; a grandchild, Louise Ann Castleman; and two brothers, Charles Gibson and Jerry Webb. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in New Hope Cemetery near Martin. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
