Bill Threlkeld

Mr. William Park “Bill” Threlkeld, 77, of State Line Road near Woodland Mills, passed away 10:38 p.m. Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted 5 p.m. today in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the hour of services today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dan Rice, Will Rice, Greg Gray, Dwayne Tarkington and Randy Barnes.
He was born Jan. 23, 1943, in Obion County, son of the late James Park and Lucille (Berry) Threlkeld. He married Charlene (Hawk) Threlkeld June 24, 1967. She preceded him in death Nov. 2, 2011.
Bill was employed as a farmer and was a member of Antioch Union Church, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and attended Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He was a charter member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, where he was commander for many years. Bill was a member of the Obion County Historical Society, the Obion County Genealogical Society, the Fulton County Genealogical Society and had been the author of several books and articles on local history.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Katharine and Chris Raines of Trenton; two grandsons, Will Raines and Aidan Raines, both of Trenton; and one brother and sister-in-law, James and Joyce Threlkeld of South Fulton.
