READY, SET, GLO!

READY, SET, GLO! — Fourteen-year-old Ada Rogers (at center under banner) was joined Friday night by her parents, Laney and Michael Rogers of Union City, at the location on East Main Street in Union City where the starting line for the annual Glo For A Cure 5K Run/Walk would have been placed. The banner was held by friends Kenny Tohn (second from left), flanked by sons Paul Martin and William, and his wife Katie Tohn (far right), joined by daughter McClain. The Glo Run would have been held Friday, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Practicing self-distancing, the Rogers family did their own personal run along the designated route at the time the event would have been held, while many longtime supporters of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation fundraiser did their own personal walks or runs at locations of their choice during the day Friday and posted pictures or video on social media. Ada, who battles CF, recently began a new medication and is doing well.
