Doing their part

Doing their part — Tennessee Department of Correction West Tennessee State Penitentiary inmates have been busy doing their part during the coronavirus pandemic by making personal protective equipment masks. They have sewn and shipped more than 20,000 masks to other TDOC facilities, as well as to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, county jails, CoreCivic facilities, sheriff’s departments and the highway patrol.
In the wake of this pandemic, offenders at the Morgan County Correctional Complex have been manufacturing protective face masks. Protective gowns and face masks are being manufactured at WTSP. Ninety-three thousand masks and 30,000 gowns have been donated since the beginning of April to those most in need.
