GRRR-EAT GREETING — Young students at Miles Head Start in Union City were full of excitement Wednesday as they greeted visitor Daniel Tiger, the main character from an animated Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) series for preschoolers. “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” builds on the pioneering PBS series “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.” Four-year-old Daniel Tiger is the son of the original program’s beloved puppet Daniel Striped Tiger. Through imagination, creativity and music, he and his friends learn the key social skills necessary for school and for life. Miles Head Start center coordinator Sharon Heaslet said they were “honored” to be chosen for a visit from Daniel Tiger. She said the local PBS station, WLJT-TV in Martin, contacted her to arrange the visit, which was also a special treat for the children as Christmas nears.
