Mary James
Mrs. Mary Sue James, 99, of Springville died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Paris Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services were to be held 1 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens officiating assisted by the Rev. Jim Calhoun. Burial was to follow in Cobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Jimmy Davis, Dennis Lit-trell, Jackie Trawick, Mike Hunter, Dick Breedlove and Bobby Allison.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
She was born March 26, 1919, in the Shawtown community, to the late Ollie and Lillie (Coleman) Treece.
She married Prather “Jack” James on July 30, 1935. He passed away on April 17, 1998.
Mr. and Mrs. James owned and operated the Ridgely Dairy Creme for over 30 years. They retired and sold the business, then moved to Springville to be with family and care for their grandchildren.
They were members of Sulphur Well Church of Christ, where they shared many hours of fellowship with the congregation and especially the “Prime Timers” Sunday School class, which she named. She enjoyed her life to the fullest and anyone that knew her, loved and adored her.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Martha “Marti” Owens and Dennis Litrell of Springville; two sons and their wives, Ron and Betty James of Springville and Don and Lana James of Mason; four grandchildren and spouses of three, Joey and Tammy James of Springville, Jamie and Ashley James of Paris, Kirbi and Brad Watson of Springville and Leslie Manley of Mason; seven great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Armie James, Parker, Macie and Reed James, Falynn Mai and Layken Watson; one great-great-grandson, Wilson Powers; one sister, Louise Johnson of Hornbeak; and a very special sister-in-law, Mozelle Flippen of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by six sisters, her twin sister, Martha Jackson, Hautie Walker, Cora Higby, Brown Hayes, Tommie James and Fern Corum; and her brother, Cecil Treece.
