Joe Reaves
Joe Hughlon Reaves, age 86, of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at McKenzie Healthcare Center. Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home in McKenzie with Bro. Lynn Stapleton officiating. Interment followed at East Side Cemetery in Martin. Pallbearers who were Billy Wayne Ford, Travis Reaves, Kyle Reaves, Daniel McCoy, Jimmy Fowler, Terry Poole, Heather Reaves and Hannah Reaves. Reaves was born Feb. 23, 1932 in Greenfield, one of 13 children of the late John Lenard and Mary Mosella Johnson Reaves. He was retired from Republic Builders Products in McKenzie, was a member of Huntingdon Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of Long Heights Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Gladys Brethauer, Adell Skinner, Jerry Reaves, Jon Edward Reaves, Ralph Lee Reaves, Roger Dale Reaves, Eugene Reaves, Bobby Reaves and Charles Reaves. Survivors include his wife, Betty Ford Reaves of Huntingdon; a daughter, Susan (Joe) Lofaro of Martin; two sons, Tom Reaves of Martin and Joe David (Shelia) Reaves of Sharon; two sisters, Peggy (Dennis) Coleman of McKenzie and Wanda West of Silver Springs, Md.; a brother, Cecil Reaves of Trezevant; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
