William “Bill” Barker

William “Bill” Barker, son of the late Lyman Barker and Maude Doris Barker, was born on June 20, 1933, in Sac City, Iowa, and departed this life on Aug. 10, 2018, at the John J. Pershing Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo., at the age of 85.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He worked as the plant manager for Brown Shoe Company and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award through the Rotary Club.
On Jan. 9, 1953, in Pocahontas, Ark., he was united in marriage to Betty Guinn. Mrs. Barker of Piedmont, Mo., survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Tittle and her husband, Ed, of Union City and Pam Stause and her husband Brad, of Dexter, Mo.; by two sisters, Betty Hicks of Farmington, Mo., and Shirley Gravett of Dallas, Texas; by three grandchildren, Holly Turner and her husband, Stephen, of Union City, BM3 Ariel Wlodarcik of San Diego, Calif., and Ryan Wlodarcik of Dexter, Mo.; by one great-granddaughter, Stella Turner of Union City; and by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death other than by his parents, by four brothers, Oscar Barker, Bob Barker, Jim Barker and Norman Barker; by two sisters, Norma Ward and Wanda Reagan; and by one granddaughter, Dawn Tittle.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter, with the Rev. Bruce Wareing officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.
