James Davis

James Aubrey Davis, 78, of Trimble died on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Tri-Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Born Sunday, July 24, 1938, in Dyer County, he was the son of the late Aubrey “Snooks” Davis and the late Elizabeth Murray Davis. He was a retired employee of Goodyear and proudly served his country in the United States Army-National Guard. Mr. Davis served the Town of Trimble for many years as an alderman before serving two terms as mayor.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home, with Dr. Bill Oakley officiating.
Interment will follow in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Davis, Kevin Lee, Tyler Dean, Heather Switzer, Dakota Lewis, Josh Davis, Dalton Kilzer and Elijah Norville.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis of Trimble; one son, Johnny Davis (Linneé) of Yorkville; two daughters, Sheri Lewis (Kevin) of Union City and Donna Switzer (Stanley) of Newbern; two brothers, Jerry R. Davis (Margaret) of Fairfield, Ohio, and Larry Gene Davis (Marie) of Obion; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis Sims; and two sisters, Katherine Crain and Margaret Davis.
