Betty Jo McClure

Betty Jo McClure, 83, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Kannon Steele, Shawn Palmer, Corky Kehoe, Wendell Duke, Kyle McClure and Rob McClure.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tucker Dilday and Coleston Curlin.
Betty was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Union City, daughter of the late Carl and Otis Ardell (Janes) Smith. She married Wesley Lee McClure Dec. 19, 1959. Betty had been employed as food supervisor for the Union City School System at the former East Side Elementary. She was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City where she enjoyed serving the Lord. Betty enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wesley Lee McClure of Union City; one son, Lee McClure (Phyllis) of Fayetteville, N.C.; five grandchildren, Amber Steele (Kevin) and Codi Dilday (DJ), all of Union City, Jake Curlin (Sara) of Union City, Mitchell McClure of Fayetteville, N.C., and Blake McClure (Carly) of Fort Mill, S.C.; 11 great-grandchildren, Morgan Palmer, Briley Kate McKinney, Kinley Steele, Kannon Steele, Austyn Brooke Dilday, Tucker Dilday, Remi Underwood, Coleston Curlin, Davi Jo Dilday, Wren Steele and Elliot Grace McClure; one sister, Farrah Campbell of Rutherford; and one brother, Eddie Smith (Helen) of Marietta, Ga.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carla McClure; four sisters; and four brothers.
