Tony Taylor

Mr. Tony Alan Taylor, 79, of South Fulton passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Tony was born on June 7, 1947, in Fulton to the late Roy Leonard “Bill” Taylor and Jane Cheatham Taylor Mosier.
Tony was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career as a service technician with AT&T before retiring.
Tony was a hardworking man who took great pride in everything he did. He enjoyed building and creating things, working in his yard, gardening and spending time outdoors. Those who knew him admired his strong work ethic and willingness to stay busy. One of his greatest joys was traveling with his wife, Sherry, to the Great Smoky Mountains. For the past 50 years, the couple faithfully made the trip each fall, creating cherished memories together.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Sherry Milstead Taylor, whom he married on April 5, 1970; one son, Michael Milstead Taylor of Paducah, Ky.; one sister-in-law, Donna Nabors Taylor of South Fulton; and two nephews, Lance (Tiffany) Taylor of South Fulton and Blake (Shanna) Taylor of Mayfield, Ky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Craig Alan Taylor; and three brothers, Mike Taylor, Tommy Taylor and Bill Taylor.
Funeral services for Mr. Tony Alan Taylor will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the hour of the service.
