Mr. Clem Jonah “Jody” Adams Jr., 73, of Springville and formerly of Union City passed away 2:16 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Murray Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Ky.
Per Jody’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or funeral service.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Jody was born Feb. 18, 1953, in Union City, son of the late Ted and Betty (Baker) Adams. He married Lynn (Lovings) Adams Aug. 31, 1985. He attended the former Dixie Elementary School and was a 1971 graduate of Obion County Central High School, where he was a member of the Key Club, basketball and football team. He served in the United States Navy from 1971 to 1975 where he was a aviation boatswain mate on the Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier and served three Mediterranean cruises on the ship. Jody retired from the radiology department at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City after almost 30 years of patient care as a radiologic technologist. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City, member of Jones Walker VFW Post 4862 in Union City and the American Legion in Springville. Jody enjoyed boating on Kentucky Lake, was an avid University of Tennessee sports fan, traveling, listening to ’60s and ’70s music and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn Adams of Springville; two daughters, Rachel Lynn Adams (Whitney) and Hannah Jo Rice (Kendall), all of Union City; two grandchildren, Anna Lynn Rice and Ivy Jo Rice, both of Union City; one sister, Wanda Rives of Union City; one brother, Paul Adams (Kathy) of Union City; and two sisters-in-law, Maureen Adams of Union City and Emily Lovings of Humboldt.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, David Adams; one sister-in-law, Deborah Lovings; and one brother-in-law, Bob Rives.
