BUILDING DAMAGED
BUILDING DAMAGED — Rives Volunteer Fire Department assistant chief Sam Kendall (from left) pointed out an area of brick that seemed to have further separated from the wall of the near 100-year-old Rives Church of Christ building Monday afternoon following Sunday night’s storm which damaged the building. Also surveying the damage were Rives Fire Chief Campbell Rice and firefighter Joshua Rollins. The building, which was opened in November 1926 and has been unsafe to use for several years, will be demolished, Kendall said. Despite wind gusts registered at a high of 49 mph and the possibility of tornadoes and hail during the thunderstorm warning which was issued by the National Weather Service for Sunday, there were no other reports of damage in Obion County.
