Elaine Thompson
Elaine Thompson, age 59, of Union City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
Funeral services were 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bro. Justin Hiens, Bro Russell Zik and Dr. Scott Denaburg officiating. Burial followed in Stanley’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Dr. Scott Denaburg, Kevin Terrett, Brandon Fleenor, Eddie Thompson, Mike Burress, Dwayne Burress, Bobby Lafever, Paul Vincent and Larry Sturgis. Honorary pallbearers were the Union City High School class of 1984.
Mrs. Elaine was born in Union City on April 8, 1966, to Finis Burress and Judy Sturgis Burress. She married Eddie Thompson on Nov. 1, 1991. She worked for Baptist and then for Kizer Pharmacy as a Respiratory Therapist. Elaine graduated from Union City High School in 1984 and was the Vice-President of her class.
In addition to her parents, Finis and Judy Burress of Union City, she is survived by her husband, Eddie Thompson of Union City; her two daughters and one son-in-law, Macy and Brandon Fleenor of Chattanooga and Tiffany Mitchell of Chattanooga; one grandchild, Ian LeFrois; and her brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Tracy Burress of Union City.
Mrs. Elaine was preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Mildred Brown; and her two aunts, Marjorie Sturgis and Shirley Dial.
