Joyce Skaggs
Mrs. Joyce Skaggs, 85, of Union City passed away 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at Diversicare of Martin.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Pastor Russell Zik officiated.
There was no visitation and friends were asked to meet at the cemetery at service time.
Pallbearers were family.
Joyce was born June 6, 1940, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late Auzie Richmond and Mary Alene (Blaylock) Bryan. She married Thomas David “Tom” Skaggs Aug. 18, 1963. He passed away July 6, 2004. They were the owners of Skaggs Market and was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
She is survived by one son, Bryan Skaggs and his wife, Paula; one daughter, Davita Stephenson and her husband, Robert; five grandchildren, Joshua Skaggs of Chattanooga, Caleb Skaggs and his wife, Melissa, of Murray, Ky., Seth Skaggs of Puryear, Brandon Stephenson and his wife, Sara, of Union City and Breanna Bell and husband, Jake, of Union City; five great-grandchildren, Myla Skaggs, AddalynJo Skaggs, Emma Stephenson, Graham Bell and Evie Bell; and one sister, Carol Morgan of Clinton, Ky.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Gene Bryan and Richard Edmond Bryan; and one sister, Linda Samuel.
