Hazel Porter
Ms. Hazel Lynn Porter, age 69, of Hickman, Ky., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, at her residence.
Ms. Porter was born in Hickman, Ky., on Nov. 14, 1955, to the late Jesse Vernon Maynard and Lovinia Rothman Maynard. She was married to the late Raymond Allen Porter Sr. Ms. Porter was a member of the David’s Chapel Baptist Church in Hickman. She had worked for the former River City Cap Company in Hickman, Wrangler Manufacturing and Tyson Foods Inc. She lived all of her life in this area.
Ms. Hazel Porter is survived by two daughters, Tammie (Roger Forgey) Buchanan and Wanda (Chris) Haney, all of Hickman; a stepson, Raymond Allen Porter Jr.; six grandchildren, Kayla Marie Buchanan of Kenton, Amber LaShay Buchanan of Hickman, Preston Lyle Buchanan of Hickman, Nathan Kyle Buchanan of Marquand, Mo., Brittany Dawn Yates of Hickman and Charliegh Elizabeth Rose Yates of Fulton; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rebecca Pierce of Paducah, Ky., and Betty Ramsey of Sandusky, Ohio; and one brother, Kenny Maynard of Mayfield, Ky.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Porter was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Allen Porter; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Jesse Maynard and Vernon Maynard; and one sister, Kencie Davis.
Graveside services for Ms. Hazel Porter will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Hickman City Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at the service time.
