HOME DESTROYED
HOME DESTROYED — Firefighters Clint Hopper and Jesse Calhoun, both of the Troy Fire Department, helped battle a blaze early Saturday at a home on Wolverine Road between Troy and Obion. The Troy FD was paged out at 5:18 a.m. and, upon arrival, received conflicting reports of possible entrapment. Troy Fire Chief Brandon Baldwin said he and Calhoun entered the house for a primary search and could not find anyone, but had to evacuate the structure within six minutes due to it becoming unsafe, resulting in firefighting operations shifting to a defensive attack. The Obion and Rives fire departments also responded to the blaze, and Troy FD called for the Kenton and Union City fire departments to respond as well for tanker support. About 50,000 gallons of water was used. No injuries were reported. The Obion County Sheriff’s Office, Baptist Ambulance Service and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation were also on the scene. The fire cause is still under investigation, with the TBI’s fire division leading it, the chief said.
