Marlene Griffin
Marlene Griffin, age 73, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025, at her home in Paducah, Ky., after a three-year battle with stage 4 cancer and dementia.
Marlene was born on May 23, 1952, in Jackson, Mich., to the late Edward and Arvella Kiel. Marlene briefly lived in Union City while her father worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as a member of senior management.
Marlene had retired from her professional career of over two decades with Sears. Beyond her professional career, Marlene was engaged in the art of refurbishing antique furniture. Her booth at the Paducah Antique mall stood as a testament to her passion.
Her artistic flair was but one aspect of her rich life. Marlene was always the first to offer help to anyone in need, and her selfless acts of kindness made a difference in many lives.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband of 50 years, Trent Griffin of Paducah; her daughters, Gina Stewart (Scott) of Gallatin and Julie Martin (Christopher) of Kevil, Ky.; her sisters, Merrily Lindquist of Greer, S.C., and Marcia Stiles (Tom) of Austin, Texas; her brother, Jim Kiel (Cyndy) of Birmingham, Ala.; her grandchildren, Dane and Charlee Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Lindquist.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, 120 Memorial Drive, Paducah, with Carlin Brooks officiating.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at the funeral home.
