Arline Coley

Mrs. Mary Arline Coley, age 83, of South Fulton passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at her residence.
She was born on Sept. 6, 1941, in Ballard County, Ky., to the late Arlie Viniard and Mary Louise Hughes Viniard.
Arline was a member of the Fulton First Baptist Church, where she was in the Gleaners Sunday School and the Second Milers Club. She worked for the former WFUL in Fulton, then went to work in 1964 at the Sears and Roebuck Stores in South Fulton and Union City for 28 years. Arline then started working in the banking industry, she worked at First State Bank in South Fulton then retiring in 2020 from the Citizens Bank in Union City. She also served two terms as Fulton City Commissioner. Arline was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
She is survived by a son, Jeff (Kathy) Swearingen of South Fulton; a daughter, Karen (Andy) Whitlock of Clinton, Ky.; a stepson, Jon Meacham of South Fulton; a stepdaughter, Jan Meacham Walker of Milan; three grandchildren, Lauren Swearingen of Franklin, Lisa Swearingen of Dyersburg and Emma Whitlock of Clinton, Ky.; a great-grandson, Conner McManis of Dyersburg; two brothers, Harold Viniard of Mayfield, Ky., and Phillip (Audrey) Viniard of Mayfield, Ky.; two sisters, Shirley Workman of Fulton and Nancy Kaye Higgins of Fancy Farm, Ky.; and her companions, Toby and Camden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Meacham; her second husband, Roy Coley Jr.; two brothers, Charles Viniard and Carroll Rocky Viniard; and a sister, Estelle Yancy.
Funeral services for Mrs. Arline Coley will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Ballard County. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of service.
